comparison pics and moving on

Sometimes its very hard to see a difference in ourselves no matter what other ppl say. I can feela difference for sure, but seeing one sometimes is hard. I see a difference in label size from a 22 to a 16, normal 16 but we can still feel fat.

This year i am going to make it to goal and i have decided to do points right now. I know many who have had success with core but i think i have become complacent with my portions so i will do points for a while. i think there is a difference between my pics.

Okay i lost a few k this year but most importantly i kept the other k i lost off! thats the biggest acheivement of all.

Not much has changed weight wise for me lately, im 86.9 but im not gaining like i would have once so hey we cant worry too much. I am back doing points this week, and using etools for a change, doing a 2 week trial but might sign up and give it a whirl.

We have had 2 days of damaging rain and 124kph winds for the june long weekend. 9 people have lost their lives, very sadly. We have had power problems and no landlines or mobiles, but we are alive, and dry for the most part. Many houses around us are damaged and this mornings air is filled with the sound of chainsaws and arborists removing trees all over. Just up the road a huge gum has fallen on a car, taken out 2 fences, but thankfully missed the house by centimetres.

We have many roads closed, so everyone is walking, which is so weird to see around here. You would swear most of our residents dont have functioning legs most of the time. But now, looking out of the windows, there are people walking everywhere as they have no choice. Wellies are the footwear fashion of the day here! Here are a few photos:

Heres me looking like a fat disheveled smurf! Its a shocking photo but remember no power means no light no hairdryers no straighteners, and we were asked to use as little water as possible because no power to the pumping stations means no water so once the reservoir is empty, nothing! The jacket i have on is too big so are the jeans lol...they make me look fatter i thinks im chucking them out. Im standing in a large carpark. See the water just behind me? That is carpark, and boat ramps. Not any more! I think the edge of the water should be about 50 metres away.

Wonder if things will ever dry out! The house above has a big sign that says 'holiday letting'. i dont think so!

Lots of folks are forced to walk now. Some idiots are driving thru the water. Its saltwater you fools.

The white fence in the pic above is a cruise ship jetty, well under water. See all the walking ppl?

This is the local surf club carpark. Well..it was. All sand and logs broken all over the place.

The water along this breakwall is usually about 1.5 - 2 metres below this side wall, now its about 30cm.

This boatshed actually has a path running along beside it, which is now under water. The boat would be approximately on the path. Their was a bunch of wires hanging above it which had been cut off! Must have been a hairy light show.

This bird is sitting on the beach. No it doesnt look like a beach anymore. Get a load of that swirling water. It was running superfast, and i think if you fell in you would be a goner. I saw some dead birds during my walk around.

I can see a difference in the two years..so im staying positive.

Its odd looking at photos of yourself from years ago. I used to think i was so fat and old hehe. i wish i could go back. and have a go at DH! long time ago!! still love him just the same.

Starting Stuff Again

Well blogspot ate my sign in name! So here i begin again.

I am 43 and married with one daughter who will be 20 in jan 07. I am going through early menopause and have asthma, which affects my losses, but i can still lose.
My hubby has had some awful health problems in the last few years, and suffers chronic pain. I think it causes me to 'eat my feelings' now and again, and they are usually covered in chocolate! I did well last year to lose around 10 kilos (12.9 according to the doc since nov. 05) and i do feel much better, but have gone off the rails a little over the christmas period.

Tomorrow is weigh in day, January 4, 2007. I am about to embark on a strict following of the Core plan, and have set myself a few goals.

I want to be true to myself as i want to lose weight more than i want to do most other things, and know i will succeed this year, with lots of support from my family and friends and the weight watchers online forums.

I started losing weight with weight watchers on february 1st, 2006. My start weight was 95.7, much heavier than my own scales! I was wearing a tight size 18 jeans and have a lovely muffin top, which i still do but its shrinking thank goodness. boy that muffin is hard to lose!
